Founded in 1889 by Jean-Baptiste Laherte, Laherte Frères is a small Champagne house still run by the same family today, now led by brothers Thierry and Christian Laherte.

Everything starts in the vineyard.

The house farms 75 small plots, making up ten hectares of vines across ten Champagne villages. Half of the vineyard is farmed biodynamically and the rest organically. Laherte's Champagnes show the distinctive character of sparkling wines from Épernay's southern slopes.

Laherte follows one basic principle, "everything starts in the vineyard", and works its vines as traditionally and naturally as possible. Each plot is vinified separately using two traditional 4,000 kg Coquard presses. Wines are moved by gravity, fermented with native yeasts and aged on their lees, mostly in old French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is not always carried out, and dosage is very low across all the cuvées.
Champagne Laherte Frères is without doubt one of Champagne's most internationally respected grower houses.
