The terroir

The La Mascaronne terroir gives each of the estate's wines a unique character. At La Mascaronne, our commitment to respecting the environment is more than a philosophy; it is a prerequisite for everything we do. Our wines are certified Agriculture Biologique (organic), and the estate's rich biodiversity means we consider our surroundings as a whole. That is what drives us to care for our vines and soils with the utmost attention, and also to look after our splendid olive trees, centuries-old oaks and magnificent stone terraces.
Our underlying philosophy is to bring out the best of everything nature has to offer while adapting to its particular features.

Climate and vineyard

Set at an altitude of three hundred metres, La Mascaronne enjoys a unique microclimate: night-time temperatures are consistently several degrees lower than along the coast.
The vineyard's orientation provides natural ventilation that keeps the grapes healthy and allows the team to keep plant treatments to a minimum. Sunshine, rainfall and average temperatures are never excessive, creating ideal conditions for the vines.
