It was from 1898, when Frédéric Émile Trimbach received the highest honours at the Brussels International Fair, that the Trimbach name gained real international recognition. Sole ownership of Clos Sainte Hune, the most precious jewel of the area, has contributed greatly to this success.
Today the family vineyard is run by Hubert Trimbach, his nephews Pierre and Jean, and his daughter Anne, the eldest of the 13th generation: so much enthusiasm and so many fine ambitions to carry on the tradition, the standards and the know-how needed to bring the wines to perfection. Pierre is in charge of everything "technical" and has been the winemaker since 1979. Jean and Anne travel the world. Jean's son Julien has just joined the estate to learn alongside Pierre.

Two turrets overlooking the vines, a few metres from the heart of Ribeauvillé, mark the F.E. Trimbach site. On the Wine Route, between vineyards and mountains, this charming town with a rich historical heritage is a mecca of Alsace winegrowing and gastronomy. Sheltered from oceanic influences by the Vosges mountains and fully exposed to the sun, the Ribeauvillé geological fault has a rich mosaic of soils (sandstone, limestone, marl, clay and more). These advantages, which favour many grape varieties and the development of aromas, produce pure, elegant and very fresh wines that truly represent their terroirs. Trimbach's 50 hectares are spread across more than 50 plots in 9 villages, including Bergheim, Ribeauvillé and Hunawihr.
