Care, respect and honesty

These are the pillars of an all-round commitment that covers every process at Bodega Marañones, backed by a professional team dedicated to improving every day.
The Marañones philosophy can be summed up in one concept defined by two words: respect and commitment.
We are committed to respecting the landscape, understood not only as an aesthetic element but as a territory with its own geophysical, historical, climatic and human characteristics.
Respect for each vineyard site: its location, its make-up and its diversity.
Respect for the vine and the different grape varieties, for the way they are grown, their growing cycle, their surroundings and environment, and the differences in climate.
Respect in winemaking, to preserve and convey what the grapes bring from each vineyard, and to reflect the differences between vintages.
And, just as importantly, respect for people: those who make up the vineyard, cellar and office teams, and those who will ultimately drink the wines we make.

Organic and biodynamic viticulture

Organic viticulture lies at the very origin of Bodega Marañones. All our plots are farmed according to organic principles, with the aim of keeping the vineyards healthy, preserving ecological balance and grape quality, and staying true to our landscape.

Marañones embraces the biodynamic principle that all the elements of the vineyard are interdependent, so that it is understood and treated as an integrated ecosystem. Aware of how hard it is to measure the success of biodynamic viticulture, we consider this approach to be fully consistent with Bodega Marañones' holistic vision and philosophy of the vineyard. In our experience, the sites are healthier and more vigorous, and the wines better reflect the character and individuality of the vineyard.

The new Bodega Marañones

The vineyard, its characteristics, its care and its surroundings are the foundation of our wines' quality, and winemaking cannot be separated from them. Through each wine, we take the drinker to our vineyards.
To better understand and enjoy the wines, we believe it is important to visit the vineyards and see the connection between them and the winemaking process.
Hence our plan to build a new winery on the Finca Marañones estate, almost 30 hectares of vines interspersed with plots home to a variety of species in an extraordinary landscape. The planning process with the Community of Madrid is already under way.
We intend to build facilities that are highly respectful of the environment, integrated into the landscape, suited to our production, open to visitors and easily accessible, serving as an introduction to discovering and enjoying the vineyard and the estate.
