His son Maurice succeeded him and set out to give the house its own vineyard estate. He acquired plots in exceptional sites such as Clos des Mouches and Clos de Vougeot.

From 1957, Robert Drouhin gave the estate its current scale, notably through acquisitions in Chablis, whose potential he foresaw. He was one of the first in Burgundy to focus on sustainable agriculture, and created the house's wine laboratory with Laurence Jobard, the first woman winemaker in Burgundy.
Philippe, Véronique, Laurent and Frédéric are the four children of Robert and Françoise Drouhin.

They uphold the values of the house and steer its future towards ever greater quality, for the pleasure of all those around the world who appreciate the natural elegance of great Burgundy wines. Today the house is run by Joseph Drouhin's four great-grandchildren, born between 1961 and 1968. They grew up in the vineyards and learned the culture of wine alongside their father, Robert Drouhin. Each has a role, and all share the same passion for the vine and wine.
Vintage after vintage, they carry on the tradition and innovate to go ever further in the search for the "elegant perfection" that has made Joseph Drouhin wines famous.
