Huerta de Albalá is in Arcos de la Frontera, at an altitude of 150 metres. It is a beautiful estate of gentle slopes stretching over 91 hectares, with a long history going back 2,000 years, when the Romans chose to settle here for its richness and beauty.

Vineyards and varieties:

75 hectares of vineyard with 225,000 vines of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tintilla de Rota (a native variety). All grow in a privileged microclimate created by the nearby Bornos reservoir and the Sierra de Grazalema, on different soil types.

A winery that blends into the landscape

The 4,600 m² winery is a model of harmony between building and landscape. Fully integrated into its surroundings, its French château-style facilities combine modernity and tradition, pairing the latest technology and production equipment with thoroughly artisan winemaking techniques.

The gravity-fed winery has two areas: the first, with stainless steel tanks, is used to produce Barbazul; the second is devoted to Taberner and Taberner Nº1, with 5,000-litre truncated-cone vats in Allier French oak.
Beneath the winery lie 1,200 barrels, also of Allier French oak, from the best French cooperages, chosen after years of research into how the wine responds to oak from different origins.

The facilities, designed in the style of a "French château," blend modernity with tradition. Here, new technologies and state-of-the-art production equipment are combined with winemaking techniques rooted in pure, artisanal craftsmanship.

The gravity-flow winery consists of two separate areas: the first is dedicated to the production of Barbazul and is equipped with stainless steel tanks. The second is reserved for Taberner and Taberner No. 1, featuring 5,000-liter truncated-cone vats made from French Allier oak.

Beneath the winery lie 1,200 barrels—also crafted from French Allier oak and sourced from the finest French cooperages—selected following years of research into how wine reacts to oak from different origins.
