The excellent microclimate and deep slate soils of the Brauneberg slope produce some of the most intensely aromatic and elegantly structured Rieslings in the Mosel.
Oliver Haag rigorously selects the clones best suited to his vineyards' microclimate to bring out the full potential of the grapes. His wines, with a pleasantly subtle colour, show a well-defined palate ranging from honeysuckle to pear and apple, interwoven with citrus and underlying mineral tones that reflect the slate vineyards of Brauneberg.
The Fritz Haag estate makes wines across the full range of styles, from dry to deliciously sweet. A slatey mineral character and pronounced, fruity acidity give the wines their elegant sophistication and great ageing potential. The estate's elegant, refined Rieslings are rated as outstanding examples of the best the Mosel has to offer.
