1,076 metres
Milsetentayseis is Alma Carraovejas' new project, aiming to showcase one of the most singular areas of Ribera del Duero: Fuentenebro.
Built on ancient vineyards, native varieties, an extreme climate and a unique setting, Milsetentayseis ("one thousand and seventy-six") takes its name from the project's most distinctive feature: its altitude of 1,076 metres.
Old vines live alongside new plantings within an integrated plot rehabilitation project that champions a landscape with a long winegrowing tradition.
Its aim: to make singular wines that capture the essence of the setting and the individuality of each of the small vineyards that make up 1076, and to put one of Ribera's highest-potential areas on the map.
"There are no predestined vineyards, only the obstinacy of civilisations"
