Midfielder David Silva, nicknamed "el mago" (the magician) for his dribbling and passing skills, made his debut as a winemaker in 2019 under the Tamerán brand in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). To guarantee the quality and authenticity of his wines, he enlisted the experience of winemaker Jonatan García Lima of Bodega Suertes del Marqués.
His passion for wine and his wish to pay tribute to his homeland led him to acquire a 6-hectare estate at 700 metres on the Amurga massif in Gran Canaria. Its microclimate and volcanic soil favour native varieties such as Verdello, Vijariego Blanco, Marmajuelo, Baboso Blanco, Malvasía Volcánica and Listán Negro, bringing minerality and a strong identity to its wines.
Under the Gran Canaria Denomination of Origin, Tamerán wines reflect the island's unique character, its privileged climate and the mineral richness of its volcanic soil. Every bottle is the result of meticulous work combining tradition and innovation, establishing Bodega Tamerán as a benchmark in Canarian winegrowing.
What began as a family project, where generations shared their knowledge and traditions, has become a winery that is also committed to sustainable viticulture and the preservation of biodiversity. With its motto "Somos tierra de valientes" (We are a land of the brave), Tamerán champions an environmentally friendly approach and hand harvesting that ensures only the best grapes are selected, preserving the purity of Canarian varieties.
