History
The story of the Geheimer Rat Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan estate is the story of a family dynasty that has helped establish quality winegrowing for almost 300 years.
Its legendary vaulted cellar holds almost every vintage since 1811: centuries of wines that still drink as if on the first day. The estate owns the best plots in the most renowned vineyards of Forst, Deidesheim and Ruppertsberg, on soils made up mainly of basalt and sandstone.
Natural and organic winegrowing
The estate follows the principles of natural and organic viticulture, in line with biodynamic practice. Its wines show strong mineral notes heightened by the terroir, and are balanced and elegant.
Alongside its dry wines, it makes a wide range of sweet and lusciously sweet wines, mainly from Riesling and, when the vintage allows, from Muskateller.
